Is it possible to get approved for an FHA loan if I have a federal Perkins grant in default?

/ August 3rd, 2011/ Posted in fha loan / 2 Comments »

I am getting conflicting answers from two different lenders. I asked this question last week, but it was removed before I could read all the answers. Any advice?
Correction-Federal Perkins Loan (not grant). Thanks!

No you can not have any government loans in default…a grant you do not pay back, a loan you do, the federal perkin is a loan not a grant
